Are you interested in learning how to make clothes?

Taster Day: Tuesday 3 March 2020

Programme Date: 10 March 2020 to 15th June 2020

10:00am – 3:00pm (Tuesday & Thursday)

FREE TO ACCESS 12-week Accredited practical course will develop your knowledge and technical skills and show you how to construct simple garments such as blouse, skirt and dress using commercial patterns and learning pattern cutting

At the end of the twelve-week course, you will know how to

  • Operate and control a domestic & industrial sewing machine                                                    
  • Create basic stitching
  • Read commercial sewing patterns and sizing
  • Lay out and pin your toile/fabric for the garment of your choice
  • Mark and cut your toile/fabric, sew up, fit and finish
  • Gain an insight into different career routes in garment construction
  • Boost your confidence, interview skills and CV
  • Receive up to three months progression support from WEPT to help you find further work, training or get help with starting your micro-business/enterprise
